Hi my name is Madie and I’m raising funds for my little brother Kian so he can have a walk in shower fitted. We have been saving ourselves but it takes time with renovations like this and I feel like it’s time to reach out for some help. Kian was born with a congenital heart defect which has had a lasting impact on his health and physical abilities.

As he gets older and surpasses the doctors expectations he’s also unfortunately becoming more fragile which means we’ve had some nasty falls and bumps that have left him in critical conditions everytime. He even spent his most recent birthday undergoing surgery. At the moment he’s struggling with balance due to his last accident that’s left his right arm in a sling since October, this has also affected his ability to climb into the bath to have a shower as we have a standard bath/shower setup.

Theres no worse feeling than feeling like you need a warm shower (especially when your aching and not feeling your best) but cannot physically have one. He’s been having strip washes since October and only just had his first shower today in hospital as it’s the only place he’s not had to climb and lift his own weight. We also don’t want him to have another accident in the bathroom from climbing in and out of the bath, especially in wet conditions, as it ends up badly for Kian and takes months and months to fully heal.
