Hi there,

My name is Brandon Hagan and my dad, Richard Hagan, is the strongest, most selfless, kindhearted, and sometimes downright stubborn individual that I know. If you've ever had the absolute pleasure of being helped out by Richard, you know that he puts his all into everything, especially his family and friends, and never asks for anything in return. For as long as I can remember, he's always happily volunteered himself to help out any and everyone, no matter how busy or stressful his own life may be. Raising four kids is no easy task, but he does so every day beaming with pride and love. Richard goes above and beyond to help out neighbors, family, and strangers without ever expecting anything in return. By setting up this GoFund me, I'm hoping to do the same for him.

Nearly two months ago, my dad came out of his 6 year Leukemia remission. Like I mentioned earlier, he is a very stubborn man and pushes himself far too hard. Even when going through rigorous days of treatment, the man truly never slows down! My siblings rely on him for rides to work and back every day and his job requires him to drive long miles nearly every day. The current family car is a 2002 Suburban with 319,000 miles. After many years of TLC and maintenance, it seems the family car is not going to last much longer. I'm setting up this GoFund me to help raise money for a new family car. Being the selfless and stubborn man that he is, my dad refuses to ask for help. I help out as often as I can and as much as I would like to buy the family a car, it unfortunately is out of my range. I would like to reach out and ask for help from this lovely community. With this all being said, I would love to tell you more about my dad and what makes him, him!

Richard is a big animal lover, with three pet cats (Otis, Hazel, and Nim) and a big, goofy chocolate lab named Sami.

He and his wife Gayla have been married for over 40 years and adopted four children.

He loves the three "Bs"... Brewers, brats, and bonfires.

If he could be anywhere, it would be up on the family farm in Wautoma, where he can spend the day tinkering with tractors, building deer stands, and taking in scenic nature with his family.

He loves to help out with my mom's garden by building beautiful garden boxes from scratch.

He loves working with his hands and can usually be found working on projects around the house or at friends'/neighbors' houses, during his "down time."

His ideal day would be spent with his family by his side. It doesn't matter what they do, as long as they can be together, laugh, and share food.
