Brain Tumours are the biggest cancer killer of people under 40 in the UK, yet they are one of the most underfunded cancers when it comes to research in the UK.

Charities in the UK make up around 86% of all brain tumour research funding and brain tumour research represents just 1.37% of national spend on cancer.

This all leads to a lack of awareness, prevention and support towards brain tumours. The reality of this was made all too real for me, as my mother was diagnosed in 2022 following months of struggle, not knowing what her symptoms were hiding.

My mum was fortunate and strong enough to make it through the many operations, but her life was changed forever, as with all people who have suffered with brain tumours.

The Brain Tumour Charity does unbelievable work to fund finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change.

That's why I am fundraising for them, as I look to complete the Edinburgh Marathon in a sub 3h30 time for my first ever marathon.
