Raise funds to help living costs

Hey, I'm a university student in Leeds. Those who might get this GoFundMe will recognise me probably from stuff I've done in Leeds but that isn't what this is about.

You've all most likely seen the increase in the far right violence sweeping the country. I live in Rotherham, where on 04/08/2024, the far right had outnumbered the counter protestors with a thousand of them, set fire to a refugee hotel after storming it and then marched to the town centre. On that day Rotherham was arguably hit the hardest, they even marched onto my local mosque.

My dad is a taxi driver, due to the dangers of the far right rising and the violence and discrimination they've inflicted, my dad has been unable to work out of safety for his own life. His taxi company told him and his colleagues that there were certain areas they simply couldn't work in, areas my dad normally does his taxi runs. As a result we've been taking heavy losses. We have to focus on paying so much.

My dad had been helping me and my brother pay off our rent for accommodation in Leeds so we can continue studying and have a place to live while we're there as well as aiding in paying off what remains of my tuition fee to my university. However, because the danger posed to him, we had to postpone our rent payments and I run the risk of not being able to go back to university with the money I still owe them. My dad has been working tirelessly yet we have hit a situation where we simply can't do anything anymore.

My dad simply can't work, my mother is unable to work is incredibly unwell. We're trying our best to do what we can and get by but with that danger and the harsh financial losses its becoming unbearable. I can't just have my dad risk his own safety and health and overwork in a dangerous climate to cover the large expenses we have coming up on top of what we need to pay for house bills.

I look to the community for help, we all do. Please, if you can spare or help in any way please do. I don't want my family to have to face any stress or risk when there are fascists roaming the streets. Please help where you can and hopefully, In Sha Allah, we can get through these harsh times.

The funds will be used to pay the rents coming up for me and my brother and pay off the university so I can continue studying, doing this will take the pressure off my dad who's having to work for it all and we can focus on actually sustain ourselves and our home like aiding towards our upcoming mortgage payments and my dads car payments.
