Ashton Christmas Party Fund

Donation protected
Hi my name is Tanya from Cherry Bomb Café. I started running the Ashton Christmas Party in 2019 when I opened a little café at the Ashton Post Office as a way for the townsfolk to get together & catch up with long lost neighbours, as well as a way for new residents to meet the long term locals.

Ashton was a hive of activity from what I can tell from the 1950's when they used to hold dances at the Hall, and since then - well I cant find much so I thought that something needed to happen for the community to be able to get together.

Since then, the event has outgrown the little post office and moved to the Ashton Oval who kindly host the event free of charge. This will be the 5th year of the event and every year is a little bigger than the year before, which means that the costs also increase each time as well.

We already have some wonderful local sponsors from Ashton Valley Fresh Juices, Ashton Co-op, Ashton Hills Wines and Temby's Farm. However the costs of paying musicians, hiring a stage, a sound system and getting a larger bands plus printing posters & flyers etc still exceeds the amount of sponsorship.

For all of the previous events, I have donated my own time and money to cover the event, and last year asked other local businesses to help cover costs, however this year I need a little more help in order to make the party even better.

All funds will be used for paying the shortfall between sponsorship and the actual cost of the event and I'm happy to share further details on costings, Donations in-kind are also welcome, or simply just spreading the word.

This years line up is two local bands from Summertown - High Purr & Tim Moore who will start the event off with some folk tunes, followed by some bluegrass with Mt Kazoo and then Exodus Reggae a 6 piece cover band doing hits from Bob Marley and some originals from Adelaide who will get everyone up on the dance floor.

There will be a full schedule of kids activities, a CFS Sausage sizzle as well as a fire truck for the kids to play with the water hoses, the delicious Hokey Pokey Ice cream van and Ashton Valley Fresh will be selling juices, however I also encourage people to bring their own picnic snack and drinks to lay lounge about on the oval, listen to the bands and catch up with your neighbours.
