Raise funds for Woking & Sam Beare Hospice

On 29 November 2024, we lost granny (Rosie) after a very short illness with pancreatic cancer. We miss her every single day.

No one ever thinks that they will need to use the services of a hospice, in fact, you rarely think about death until you're confronted with it. There are so many things that are outside of your control, however, dying with peace, dignity and pain-free is something that everyone deserves. Thanks to Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, we were able to spend 10 days with granny, soaking up every last moment with her as a family. There were lots of tears, but there was also laughter. We are so very grateful for this time and for the wonderful nurses, doctors and the wider team who played a huge role in allowing us the space to be with granny, to grieve and to heal.

Nothing was ever too much bother, whatever granny wished for (or any of us in fact) was made possible. Whether that was hand massages, hair cuts/ blow drys, food, drinks, cuddles with dogs or just a chat - it was all there for us and nothing was too much bother.

All of their work is funded primarily by generous donors, with only 1/3 of their funding coming from the government.

Following granny's fearless approach to her illness, and her wish to give back to the hospice and to those who cared for her in her final days, I have signed up to a 15,000ft sky dive on 3 May 2025, with the aim to raise as much money as I can for this wonderful hospice which will go towards future care for patients and their families.

I understand times are hard but any donation will make a big difference to the work they do and will ensure more people are given the opportunity to experience their final days in peace, warmth and in the care of the wonderful team at Woking & Sam Beare Hospice.
