We’re Darby and Nick – two mates who share a love for running and a passion for making a difference in people’s lives. This year we have joined forces for a new challenge: running 100km around the Annapurna region in Nepal. But this isn’t just about the run – it’s about giving back.
Why we’re running:
Nepal is home to an incredible community of runners and families who don’t always have the same privileges and opportunities that we do here in Australia. With your support we will raise funds directly for Nepalese runners and their families, helping to support education, resources, and brighter futures. A documentary will also be created to share their stories and shine a light on the impact your generosity makes.
About Darby
Darby’s heart has always been with his local community in the Sutherland Shire, where he also works as a primary school teacher. His love for helping others has already made a real difference:
• He ran from the Gold Coast to Sydney, raising $50,000 for mental health, with every dollar going straight back into Sutherland Shire schools.
• He broke the Relay for Life record, raising even more funds to fight cancer.
About Nick:
Nick has been right there alongside Darby in many of these efforts, supporting and helping bring these fundraisers to life. Nick has also struggled with mental health, and has found a love for running that has helped shape who he is today.
Now, we’re joining forces properly for the first time, combining our love for running with a shared commitment to helping communities both locally and abroad.
Our mission
Running 100km around Annapurna is going to push us to our limits, but we know it’s worth it. Together, we hope to:
• Support Nepalese runners and their families with much-needed resources.
• Share this journey with others through a documentary, showing how passion, sport, and community spirit can change lives.
How you can help
Your donation will help us:
1. Provide direct support to Nepalese runners and families.
2. Raising money to give away to athletes as cash prize.
3. Assisting in the support of an orphanage in Nepal.
Only once all this has been achieved will exceed funds:
1. Cover part of our cost getting to Nepal.
2. Fund the creation of a documentary that will amplify this story and inspire others to use their passions for good.
