Raise Funds For the MDS society and other Masonic Charities
Donation protected
Hi my name is Yan and I am the currently the master of Bucky Castle Lodge in Daventry in Northamptonshire. Myself and 5 other Brothers are raising money by a Charitable Walk of part of Hadrians Wall, walking a total of just under 30miles. The reason I am rasing this money is my Dad currently has a very rare blood cancer to which there is no know cure called Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) which is a group of blood cancers where the bone marrow doesn't produce enough healthy blood cells, leading to abnormal and dysfunctional cells. MDS can develop into a more serious blood cancer called acute myeloid leukemia (AML) this is a terminal disease. I am rasing funds for the MDS society who are a small charity who provide support for patients and their families as this disease progresses. It puts other sufferers and family members in touch with each other and have meetings to discuss the disease and provide support and information. For more information please follow the link https://mdspatientsupport.org.uk/
I am also raising funds for our masonic charity fund which will be donated to local charities nominated by myself this year. As the oldest social and charitable society that has giving to others in need as a core value, with £51.1 million given away last year to charity by the Masonic Charitable Foundation including locally to fund specialist Prostate Cancer treatment on the NHS in Northampton General Hospital and to help fund a Maggies Specialist Cancer Care centre at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridgeshire.
