Hi, my name is Ravi, 36 and stuck in hospital

I urgently need legal representation to help me leave hospital and return home with the safe care my life-limiting condition requires.

I have spent the last 10 years trying to secure the support I need to live as full a life as possible. During that time, I have spent 16 months in hospital during a previous admission, and 8 months during my current admission. We have now reached the point where there appear to be no options left except to pursue a Judicial Review.

In the past few months, my family and I have contacted over 60 UK law firms, all of whom confirmed I am eligible for legal aid. Yet every single one has said they do not have the capacity to take on my case.

Without legal representation, I am unable to challenge the decisions that are keeping me in hospital and preventing me from returning home with safe, appropriate care.

Before my current circumstances, I had an active and social life. I enjoyed spending time with friends in pubs, at concerts and festivals, and even doing silly things like waxing my beard to raise money for others living with my condition. I enjoyed getting up for work. I had a life beyond hospitals.

I do not believe I am the only person facing this situation. My hope is that by pursuing this action, others in similar circumstances may also have the chance to reclaim their lives.

We are raising funds so I can finally secure legal representation and fight for my right to live safely at home.
