RAISE FOR NEW COMMUNITY FRIDGE - Rekz Afzal (RSA)

~IMPORTANT~

Having sold alcohol for 5-6 years and after deciding to stop the sale of it at the end of 2016, one of the fridges that housed the alcohol stock was turned into the community fridge which has been successfully helping many in hardship in Renfrewshire. Providing a stepping stone for many who then were able to find their feet and pay it forward to eventual service users by purchasing food and donating it to the service. Moreover, the network established to have variety of food flourish has been exceptional.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the community fridge is on its last legs and having got an engineer to assess it thoroughly on two occasions, they have advised that the double door commercial refrigeration unit has to be scrapped.

This will no doubt pose a threat to the continued running of the service.

The shop since the last 3 years and 10 months has been covering related costs to the service, which we are close to establishing funds for.

However, getting a new efficient fridge in place will be a great challenge for the shop, as the shop has just about got back to some normality in terms of footfall.

The quote has been attached from the company that will provide the commercial food/drinks refrigerator which will be the new community fridge and they will provide relevant cover. Outlining the details of cost. The photo of this quote will be in the comments section of the Facebook post.
