I am a single mom to two young kids. I work full time and am able to provide for our basic daily needs but with the cost of rent and living expenses I have been unable to save any extra. A year ago we moved into a home with my long-term boyfriend but sadly my boyfriend has a serious drinking problem that he was able to keep hidden from me before we lived together. He is cruel and abusive when drunk and the drinking is now a regular occurrence often happening multiple times a week. This environment is toxic and no longer a suitable, loving home for me and my children. I am trying to raise enough money for a down payment on a modest home for me and my kids so that we don’t have to go back to renting another temporary home at prices so high I will never be able to save towards a home of our own.
