Hi we are the Ethington’s about a little over 2 yrs ago we started working toward our dream of owning a home to raise our 6 children in. We picked out a 1 acre lot of land and pick a manufactured home that was modest, but still fit our families needs. At the time we signed the purchase agreement for our home and put a down payment on the land and construction loan. We felt the overall costs would be within what we could afford on a mortgage payment when the home was complete. Well COVID and inflation happened, which by the time we realized how much a bunch of factors drove up the cost of the home it was too late to back out without loosing everything we paid down. I had planned on saving ourselves some by doing the electrical work myself, but as interest rates went up and costs went up, I soon realized I needed to make more money to avoid losing our home that we have waited for so long. So I have been working 3 jobs the last few months and it turns out it is still not enough. But we are only short by $5k though. We are so close and just need a little more help or the lender will not approve the loan to purchase our home.
