Funds for therapy & healing support of Raheem’s Daughter, Deja

The state turns a blind eye to the co-victims of the death penalty. Monies for victim services are allocated through the prosecutor's office and are mainly used to get victims to help secure harsh sentences.

On February 7th at 6:16 pm, the state of Missouri took the life of Raheem Taylor, despite active ongoing litigation and an actual innocence claim that never had its day in court. Missourians to Abolish the Death Penalty mourns the loss of Angela Rowe and her family and the loss of Raheem Taylor. We know that executions do not bring justice; they only continue cycles of violence by creating new murder victim family members. We are organizing this GFM to support Raheem’s daughter Deja. Deja needs to take time off from working in the restaurant industry to process the atrocity the state committed against her father. These funds will allow Deja that time off of work to use for healing, obtain therapy, and self-care as she sees fit.

Time and time again, the community has stepped up where the state fails to support victims of violence, and we still need your help. We so appreciate your support uplifting Deja so she does not have to struggle financially while trying to heal from the trauma the state-imposed when they took the life of her dad, Raheem Taylor.
