I’m racing to help my nephew Bryce, who has epilepsy and is facing eviction in Rochester, Washington, by March 1st. Stress-induced seizures mean he can’t fly, and he depends on his comfort dog, so I’m driving him to his mom’s home in Welton, Arizona.
At the same time, my 19-year-old son Sage, who’s been living in a teen homeless shelter, will join them for a fresh start with family—a chance at the stability he needs. This coming together feels like an answer to many prayers. I’ve put flights and a rental car on credit cards and I’m taking time off work to make it happen, but it’s pushing me to the limit. Any support to ease these costs would mean everything to us.
