Racing for Janis: HYROX NYC for Glioblastoma Research

Tax deductible
My beautiful sister, Janis, was full of life, laughter, and love. She was the kind of person who lit up every room she entered—a devoted mother to Joey and Tommy and someone who faced every challenge with incredible strength, grace, and smile on her face.

In May 2021, our world shattered when we lost her to Glioblastoma, an aggressive and devastating form of brain cancer. Glioblastoma (often called GBM) is one of the most deadly cancers, striking without warning and progressing rapidly. It affects thousands of people each year, with an average survival time of just 12-18 months even with the best treatments available. Janis fought bravely for as long as she could, but this terrible disease took her from us far too soon.

Losing Janis left an unimaginable void in our family and in the lives of everyone who knew her. But in her memory, I want to turn our grief into action. On May 30th, I’ll be competing in HYROX NYC – a fitness race combining running and functional workouts – to raise awareness and funds for the Glioblastoma Foundation. This nonprofit funds innovative research, clinical trials, and patient support to turn GBM from terminal to treatable.

Your donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference:
• It could help fund a new drug trial that extends lives.
• It could support families navigating treatment and care.
• It could bring us closer to breakthroughs that Janis and so many others deserved.

If you’d like to help us raise money for research and patient care, you can donate to the Glioblastoma Foundation. Thank you for your support!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading Janis’s story and considering a gift in her honor. Sharing this page with your friends and family would mean the world to us—together, we can raise awareness and hope for a future without Glioblastoma.

Thank you,
Jay
