♂️♂️♂️ Racing for a Reason: Help Us Change Two Lives
This summer, my 7-year-old son and I are racing side by side—me in the Calgary Ironman 70.3, and him in the IronKids Splash & Dash. But this isn’t just about medals or finish lines. It’s about showing up—for kids who need someone in their corner.
We’re raising $6,000 to support Big Brothers Big Sisters in Calgary, an organization that has deeply impacted my own family in my community of Saskatoon. During my time playing Jr. A hockey, I served as an in-school mentor. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful a consistent, caring adult can be in a child’s life.
I was lucky—I had a father who was present, supportive, and involved. That presence shaped who I am. But not every child has that. And that’s where we come in.
Why It Matters
1 in 3 youth in Canada grow up without a positive adult role model.
$3,000 sponsors one full-time mentorship for a year.
That’s weekly support, guidance, and encouragement for a child who needs it most.
Our Goal: $6,000 = 2 Life-Changing Mentorships
We’re doing this to:
Raise awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters
Celebrate the incredible volunteers already making a difference
Inspire others to become mentors themselves
How You Can Help
Donate today and be part of something bigger than a race. Be the reason a child feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Let’s show what the power of presence can do. Because every child deserves someone who shows up.
