Hi, we are the Angaranos; we are setting up this Gofundme page in the hopes of supporting our dear friends, the Cacciatos. Chris and Rachel Cacciato live and work in CT. They have three beautiful daughters. Within the last few months, Rachel endured a necessary, scheduled surgery immediately followed by emergency surgery.
Because of a strong family history of cancer, Rachel took the proactive step of completing genetic testing in the hopes of protecting her family and herself from future disease. Rachel's test results strongly indicated the need for preventative surgery. On March 29th, she had a hysterectomy and was discharged from the hospital the following day. She immediately began to suffer from enduring severe headaches and nausea. Her symptoms led to the discovery of a large frontal lobe meningioma requiring immediate surgery. Rachel was admitted to Yale New Haven Hospital, where she received outstanding, compassionate care.
Fortunately for Rachel's friends, family and loved ones, the tumor is non-cancerous. However, the tumor's nature will require long-term care and surveillance. Rachel is scheduled to start radiation therapy over the summer. The treatment will likely cause her to return to her students several weeks into the new school year.

Rachel and her family received a bountiful outpouring of love and generosity from their family, friends, and community. They have been
overwhelmed and moved by what those close to them, colleagues and simply the kind of heart provided for. Rachel is recovering resiliently
largely because of the selfless support she and her family received.
Rachel recently left her career in business to pursue her passion for teaching: she is a 5th-grade teacher in Danbury. She loves her creative,
imaginative students and hated being away from them. She is a hysterically witty and supportive wife to her husband, Chris. Rachel is a brilliant mother to her twin daughters Lilah and Sydney and a proud and loving stepmother to her beautiful stepdaughter Madison. Rachel and Chris put family, friends and community above all else. They are always there to lend a hand often before you realize you need a hand.
We hope to lessen the Cacciato's financial burden so that they can concentrate on treatment, recovery and much-needed family time. To those that have already so generously given what they feel they can, please consider sharing this post.
