Help change the lives of locals in Vietnam Village

For my birthday this year, instead of buying me a gift, I’m asking you to please kindly donate to helping the locals of the Northern Vietnam Villages which I recently visited and saw the grave help they need.

All donations will go to Flipside Vietnam who are doing incredible things for the struggling locals of the Ha Giang Region in the northern mountains of Vietnam.

For every $350 raised, they will be able to provide a 2000L water tank which can provide 5 families with one week of water to drink and cook with.

The villages they are supporting are experiencing daily struggles of starvation and survival. They don’t have clean energy sources including access to clean water, recycling, trash, human & animal waste. I was lucky enough to be able to travel and visit them.

We hear the stories and we see the pictures in the western world, but experiencing the conditions that these people live in first hand has forever changed me.

Their houses (which you can’t even call houses) have no walls, holes in roofs, zero insulation to combat the changing weather conditions. Their access to water, especially clean water, is minimal if not none. Supply and access to food is mainly, if not completely reliant on crops - if they are lucky enough to have a farm.

But through all this they smile. They welcomed me into their communities and homes. They are grateful for what they DO have, not what they DON’T. We could learn so much from them.

In the long term, Linh and the team at Flipside want to help provide local communities with long term jobs where they can work and earn for their living. A dream that would be life-changing for so many, but after meeting Linh and seeing her passion, I believe it’s a dream that can come true.
