Hi, I’m Racheal’s mum. For nearly 4 years we have been planning a wonderful gap year for Racheal who has learning disabilities, physical disabilities and is blind. Her amazing friend, Summer, is giving up a year, before she goes to university, to support Racheal to have awesome adventures all over Europe and in Canada. We had thought that Summer could be paid as Racheal’s carer, but were told at the beginning of June that it’s not possible when we are travelling, which is most of the time, due to employment law and health & safety at work etc.

Please help me to give Summer some spending money for the year, and acknowledge what a wonderful young person she is to still be prepared to come despite the disappointment of not being paid.
