Ciao a tutti, sono Alessandro ho 24 anni e sto facendo il volantario in Kenya.
Ci troviamo a 6 ore d'auto da Nairobi, nella periferia di Kisii. Il villaggio si chiama Nyakoe. Qui abitano migliaia di persone che cercano di sopravvivere nell'estrema povertà, talvolta senza acqua potabile e cibo.
Qui i bambini vivono una vita difficile, costretti il più delle volte a dover lasciare la scuola per mancanza di fondi e aiutare la propria famiglia lavorando. La loro unica via d'uscita da questa vita, seppur temporanea e fittizia, è quella di giocare a calcio. Scalzi, con vestiti di fortuna e palloni usurati dal tempo, immaginano di giocare per i maggiori club europei.
Il mio progetto, insieme alla ONG Wirio, è quello di raccogliere fondi che possano aiutare la comunità intera nella vita di tutti i giorni, e che permettano di acquistare beni di prima necessità come acqua, cibo, medicine e materiali scolastici, insieme a scarpe, completini e palloni per i bambini.

Hi everybody, my name is Alessandro, I'm 24 years old and I'm volunteering in Kenya.
We stay on the outskirts of Kisii, it is around a 6 hour drive from Nairobi, in a small village called Nyakoe. Here there are thousands of people trying to survive in extreme poverty, living without drinking water and enough food. For the children, life can be very especially hard. Most of the time, they are forced to leave school due to lack of money and must start working to help their families. Their only way out, even if temporary and fictitious, is playing football. Barefoot, wearing second-hand clothes, kicking broken and worn out soccer balls, they dream to play for the biggest European football clubs.
My project, in partership with NGO Wirio, is to raise funds that can benefit the entire community in their everyday lives and provide water, food, medicines and school equipment, as well as shoes, jerseys and soccer balls for the children.
