I’m looking for help retaining an lawyer in Canada to represent me for a Hague International Parental Abduction Hearing. Prior to Lily’s abduction she lived with my wife and I.
In August of 2018, Lily’s mom didn’t return her after a summer visit. The 19th of September Lily was found in Toronto with her mother. I flew immediately to Toronto to pick her up that same day. As I was in transit; I was told that she could not be returned. She was placed in care of the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. A child protection case was opened to protect Lily from “the ongoing conflict she is experiencing between the parents”.
In 2014 Lily’s mother lost custody of her because she moved our daughters to Iowa after being denied an out of state move. (We also have an older daughter who is an adult now.) After a series of unsuccessful appeals she began planning to abduct our daughter. In August she carried out her plan.
Lily’s mother forum shopping, trying to use the Canadian courts to overturn the Minnesota court decision to have Lily live with me.
The court costs are beginning to pile up and I am uncertain if I will be able to retain my Lawyer in Canada to defend my Hague application.
Any help will be appreciated to bring Lily home to her family and friends that miss her.
