About me:
My name is Ayah Hossam, a Palestinian - Canadian Citizen living in Toronto Canada. I was born and raised in the famous Gaza Strip. I am also a wife, a mother and a sister. I am organizing this campaign on behalf of my mother, disabled father, four brothers and two sisters.
What is happening in Gaza:
As many of you know through the media, Gaza is faced with an unprecedented bombardment on the civilian population. More than 30,000 thousand have been killed and 70,000 thousand injured. Both the above-ground residences and the underground infrastructure are totally destroyed. Over 90% of the Gaza’s population are living in tents in the bitter cold with bombs raining on them. There isn't any food, drinkable water, shelter, or even medical care for the sick. The most basic necessities of life are diminished.
What is my goal:
The goal of this campaign is to raise money so that my family can flee Gaza in order to find safety. My family is going through the unimaginable right now in the northern portion of Gaza. Everywhere they look on the streets of Gaza, they see destruction and death. Their house is totally demolished, as shown below. Additionally, their gym is destroyed. Their whole life savings was spent on building their house and gym, and everything disappeared in an instant. All of their pleasant recollections are just gone.
To make things worse, a neighbours house was bombed recently causing my sister to injure her hand and causing a concussion to my brother from the bomb blast.
This is how they live now. Preparing bread over a wooden fire. They put their lives at risk from being shot just to obtain flour for bread-making. There are no words to depict the conditions they live in at this point. Let the pictures speak for themselves.
What I am asking:
I am reaching out to all of you hoping to get your support to help my family members leave Gaza. My family has witnessed death and destruction during on the on-going war in Gaza. There is nowhere else for my family to go. No house to dwell in, no life to live. Their everyday necessities are diminished. With your kind generosity, my family can find a safe place to live in and the find everyday necessities.
Your contributions will be distributed as follow
$ 32500 USD - ($5000 x 5 adults and $2500 x 3 children). For permits and crossing fees. This will be used to cross the Gaza- Egypt border with hopes of finding safety.
