Hi, my name is Susan Guzman, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart for support for my family during an incredibly difficult time. My father was recently detained by ICE, and our family is facing emotional and financial hardship as a result.

My dad has always been the backbone of our family– working hard, supporting us, and being a loving presence in our lives. He made it his mission to provide for the family by working hours in demanding construction jobs to ensure my mom and I were always cared for. Now with his detention, we are not only heartbroken but also struggling to cover basic expenses like rent, food, and legal fees. As a full-time student also working a student job, I’m doing everything I can to fill the gap, but the expenses are more than I can manage on my own.

Our biggest concern right now is to keep a roof over our heads and ensure I can continue my education. Without my dad’s income, we are in danger of losing our home, which would devastate our family further.
