To know Victoria was to love her. She had a sweet smile and knew just how to draw you into one of her fun adventure stories. Victoria grew up in Louisiana and California but always kept her southern roots. She was a straight-A student in both high school and college. During undergrad, she worked as a hotel manager and a surgery scrub tech. After college, she worked as a preschool teacher, a dental assistant, and a nanny for 3 young children. For grad school, she won a prestigious scholarship that not only paid for her schooling but also provided her a stipend. She went on to graduate at the top of her class earning a master's degree in Social sciences. With all her brains, hard work, and abilities she chose social work instead of a high paying career, again following her caring heart for helping others. She eventually specialized in child and adult protective services and forensic interviews. She had an amazing ability to help, especially children. Victoria was also very humble. She once said she could not keep more money than she needed because she would feel too guilty not to help others. Such a sweet gentle kind person and she loved her parents very much. Victoria and her mom spoke nearly every day.

Victoria was not just the light in the room she was a beautiful soul who will be missed by many but none more than her newborn twin son's Mercer and Andrew. Sadly their mom went into a coma just hours after giving birth to them only never to wake up. This gofundme has been set up to help their father Zac care for his newborns in her absence.
Victoria and Zac traveled the world on amazing adventures before deciding to start a family. When Victoria and Zac found out they were pregnant with twin boys they were over the moon. They had been praying for a baby to make their family complete and the day they learned they had been blessed with two instead of one was simply beautiful. Like most mothers of twins, Victoria was scheduled for a c-section. She went in for the procedure and gave birth to two healthy baby boys that they named Mercer and Andrew. I'm not quite sure if there is a greater feeling than what is felt on the day you give birth and get to meet your greatest creation(s). Sadly all of those feelings changed just hours later when Victoria began to have a headache. The day after giving birth Victoria experienced fast-acting brain swelling and doctors were not able to save her. She went into a coma and was sadly taken off of life support days later. Luckily she got to hold and love Andrew and Mercer before the trouble began. She eventually was able to donate a record number of healthy organs, a tragic but beautiful example of how giving she was and the amazing way that she always helped others.
The devastation that her family has experienced has been brutal to say the least. As a mom, one of my greatest fears is not being there for my kids. As a friend, I want to do whatever I can to make sure that Victoria's children are taken care of in her absence. Victoria's twin newborns will need care around the clock. Both Victoria's and Zac's parents live out of state. Replacing their mom with a live-in caregiver is a costly expense, one that was never imagined. I know it would mean so much to Victoria that we are all here loving and caring for the babies she will never get to see grown-up. Their father Zac has been overwhelmed dealing with her affairs and it would mean so much to him to have help and support of family, friends, and a community who cares.
After two weeks in the NICU, Andrew and Mercer went home, just a few days shy of their mom's birthday. We are looking for a way to share more photos and updates on how they are doing.
Victoria, we love you and miss you. Please rest in peace knowing your babies will be loved on and cared for by many.
