My name is Barbara Bazemore. I am a fiery and ambitious recent graduate who holds public-sector experience and principles of community building. A native of Pleasantville, NJ, known as empathetic, idealistic, and creative, with a lifelong passion for addressing systemic issues and advocating for marginalized groups.
Helping the Forgotten seeks to provide basic necessities, inspire hope, and restore faith in community for the homeless; who were shunned prior to this unprecedented global pandemic and who now face a new set of challenges. Furthermore, the project also seeks to engender solidarity, local change, and perspective for volunteers in a time where there is an overwhelming longing for positive impact and connection to humanity.
Will attain the list of items needed for the care packages from local stores (Big Lots, Dollar Tree, and Walmart). Items will be bought by the director. Items include, but are not limited to: water, toothpaste, toothbrush, tampons/pads, masks, etc. Packages will be assembled by volunteers and all will be provided with directions for efficiency. Those who may be in need will be scouted before the distribution. Areas of concentration are based on locations frequented by the visible and covert homeless (local bus stops, soup kitchens, shelters, etc.).
Thank you for taking the time to review my proposal and I invite and welcome you to share with me Helping the Forgotten.
I invite and encourage you to embark on this endeavor of bringing hope and light to marginalized groups and helping the forgotten.
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
Galatians 6:2
