Jackie was a single mom with a 2 1/2 year old son when she met Pete. They fell in love and got married. Tragically, Pete suffered a devastating accident falling off an oil rig while working. He became a quadriplegic. He was given 5 - 10 years to live. Over the next 40 years!, Jackie worked as Pete's 24-hour nurse while simultaneously raising seven children, grandchildren, neighborhood friends who needed a place to stay, and countless stray animals in a remote community just off northern Vancouver Island (Sointula, BC). As Jackie worked full-time taking care of Pete and her family, she did not work any other job. Unfortunately, Pete passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. Jackie is no longer employed with Worker's Compensation Board (taking care of Pete) and now has no source of income. During their lifetime together, they re-mortgaged their house a couple of times to help their children and others. Our hope is to raise money to help Jackie pay her mortgage and be allowed to live in her own home in her community surrounded by friends and family in the house of so many memories with her husband.
Please help... any donation, no matter how small, will go directly to Jackie. We don't want her to lose her home. Thank you so much for your support!
