On Simchat Torah, the very day the Torah was given, our enemies tried to strike at the core of our identity.

My sweet beloved niece, Rotem Rachel Levi went to the Nova music festival, where she was brutally murdered in cold blood by the monsters of Hamas, along with 1,200 of our brothers and sisters, men, women, and children, on that cursed day.

Since then, Simchat Torah has turned from a day of joy and celebration into a day of mourning for the worst massacre our people have faced since the Holocaust. For me, my family, and every Israeli and Jew in Israel and around the world, it will forever be a day marked by pain and blood.

But I believe that from that very darkness, a great light must rise.

That’s why I’ve taken it upon myself to write and dedicate a new Torah scroll, which will carry the names of all those murdered at the Nova festival and the surrounding communities, all the hostages, the fallen, and the 915 heroic soldiers who gave their lives in the battles in Gaza and on every other front of this war.

This Torah will stand as a symbol of eternity, of love, of a people who continue to live and create.

It’s more than a Torah scroll it’s a spiritual declaration: Am Yisrael Chai. No darkness will ever extinguish our light.

ביום שמחת תורה, היום שבו ניתנה התורה, אויבינו

ניסו לפגוע בעצם הזהות שלנו.

אחיינית שלי האהובה והמתוקה מדבש, רותם רחל לוי יצאה למסיבת הנובה ושם נרצחה בדם קר ע״י מפלצות החמאס יחד עם עוד 1200 אחים ואחיות, נשים, גברים וילדים ביום הארור ההוא. מאז אותו היום, שמחת תורה הפכה ליום זיכרון לטבח הקשה ביותר שידענו מאז השואה, במקום יום של חג ושמחה, יום שלנצח יהיה מלווה בכאב ובדם עבורי, עבור משפחתי ועבור כל ישראלי ויהודי בארץ ובעולם.

אני מאמין שדווקא משם חייב לקום אור גדול!

לכן לקחתי על עצמי לכתוב ולהכניס ספר תורה חדש, שיישא את שמותיהם של כל הנרצחים במסיבת הנובה וישובי העוטף, כל החטופים החללים וכל 915 חיילנו הגיבורים הקדושים שחרפו נפשם בקרבות ברצועת עזה ובכל שאר החזיתות שנפתחו במלחמה.

הספר הזה יהיה לנו סמל של נצח, של אהבה, של עם שממשיך לחיות וליצור.

זה לא רק ספר תורה זו הצהרה רוחנית: עם ישראל חי, ושום חושך לא יכבה את האור שלנו.
