The year 2020 has been trying, and for many people, in more ways than one. Families, individuals, communities, and businesses have all been impacted tremendously. Those who could once easily provide for themselves and others now find themselves falling short due to financial and circumstantial hardship. Others who have faced such hardships since before the pandemic have been left hungrier than ever before.
Grill Em Steakhouse has always been dedicated to feeding the community that surrounds it. While we have adapted to new mandates to keep ourselves and our customers safe, we recognize there is so much more to be done. This holiday season, we at Grill Em Steakhouse are dedicated to extending our helping hands further than ever before. We are turning the tables on hunger this year by hosting our very own food donation drive named, “Stop the Hunger”. We are dedicating ourselves to feeding 1500 people this December. In order to do this, we are asking for your help.
This year, we have partnered with HomeFirst, Loaves & Fishes, Martha's Kitchen, Salvation Army Emmanuel House, & StandUp for Kids. These donation-based organizations live within the San Jose/Campbell Area, and cater to the ever-growing homeless population. The 2019 San Jose Homelessness Census count 6,097 homeless individual in San Jose last year, an increase of 40% since 2017. Grill Em’s Stop the Hunger Food Donation drive is centered around supplying hot meals to those in need. By donating $5, you are helping to feed somebody else. Times may be hard, but we have to remember there is always somebody who has it a little harder than we do. If we can come together as the community and family that we are, we too can help families and individuals in need.
