Hello,

I am completing my first triathlon on the 14th September to raise money for STARS , a charity dedicated to providing free support to survivors of rape and sexual violence in Dorset.

I want to raise money for STARS as rape and sexual assault is an unbelievably difficult trauma to recover from, especially due to the lack of education and awareness around sexual violence in our society. It often feels taboo to even discuss sexual violence, especially rape, resulting in survivors feeling invalidated, ostracised and misunderstood about a trauma they never deserved.

I am proud to raise money for STARS as it is a lifeline to myself and other survivors. The advice, support and community STARS provided for me during the most difficult time in my life enabled me to recover and I can honestly never thank them enough for the kindness they showed me.

Any donation for this cause will be so appreciated and I'm very excited to tackle my first ever triathlon for this charity!

Sexual Trauma and Recovery Services (STARS Dorset) is a pan-Dorset charity that offers one to one support, free of charge, for anyone of any age or gender, who lives works or studies in Dorset and has experienced any form of sexual assault at any time in their lives. They provide several different types of support including an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Service, Counselling, Group Work, a Children and Young People's Service and a Support Line.
