Quilters & Crafters Unite to Help Families in Need

My name is Debbie Fletcher. I have lived in Arkansas all my life. I am heartbroken at the loss and devastation from the hurricane, floods, and mudslides in Western North Carolina, Tennessee, and other states. I just can't imagine losing everything, much less losing loved ones in this catastrophic event. I have watched so many horrible videos and listened to people relive what they went through, and I want to help in some small way.

I know loved ones can't be replaced, but I am fortunate to be a member of the large crafting and sewing community, and I wanted to join forces to send these people handmade items made with love to help them feel like a part of our loving and supportive community. I also want to purchase toys for the Christmas of the families that have lost so much. I have tons of craft supplies and plan on making what I can to brighten up someone's day. I am working on new pillowcases and snugglers for the kids, and throw blankets and quilts for the adults. I know that my fellow crafters would love to pitch in and help with things that they can make. I am raising money to help with the family and kids' Christmas toys because I know these people will be struggling to just make ends meet. I want to personally deliver or coordinate with someone local to provide Christmas and handmade items to at least 100 families, if not more.

All of the money raised will go for kids' toys and expenses involved with getting everything to the families that need it. I will be getting details on specific children to buy for. Each gift will be wrapped and labeled. I plan to deliver all items The first part of December. So please, if you can help in any way, please donate a handmade item or money for toys.
