Isolated, laidoff, pregnant Help Prasad & Aparna

Donation protected
Prasad is a hardworking and talented makeup artist and is known to me for twenty years. His story is one of hardship, poverty, and, abuse, but also of determination, honesty and perseverance. After running away from an abusive family at the age of 8, Prasad lived on the streets of the Indian city of Chennai and made a living by doing several odd jobs. In spite of growing up without parents to show him the way of life, he is one of the most hardworking, kind, and honest human beings I know.

Prasad has been working as a struggling makeup artist for the last 12 years, but without the fancy make-up school certificates and foreign education, his paychecks have been just enough for survival. With neither a formal education, nor any knowledge of the English language, his chances of securing another job are slim. Even so, he tries to make as best a living as he can.

Aparna was born in a low-income house as the younger of two daughters. After her father, the only bread winner of the family suffered a major medical setback, Aparna inherited her father's menial job in the Indian railways. She works as a janitorial staff and is tries hard to secure promotions, which are usually given only to people with connections.

Aparna and Prasad have been married for 5 years and after suffering miscarriages and other complications, are currently 8 months pregnant. Due to Covid-19, all filming in India has been stopped, rendering Prasad jobless. Six staff members in Aparna's office were diagnosed positive with covid-19 and so far 5 of them have passed away. So Aparna is also at home with only a portion of her salary coming to them. They live in a different state than Aparna's family who themselves are struggling monetarily and cannot come to help because of lockdowns and quarantines.

Prasad and Aparna are very excited to welcome their baby in July, but also stressed and anxious because of their depleting savings, and uncertain medical prospects in their city. Chennai has the second highest number Covid-19 cases in India and inter-state travel is almost impossible and highly risky as well.

I request you to kindly donate whatever amount you can for Prasad, Aparna and their baby. Any amount they receive will be a pleasant and welcome surprise for them, but my goal is to reach at least $2500 (1.8Lakhs Indian Rupees), so please find it in your heart to be as generous as you can. With their baby due in less than 2 months, please consider donating with urgency, and spread the word to your near and dear ones.

Please be rest assured that your tiniest contribution will go a long way and will be given to a couple who are most deserving. I appreciate you taking the time to read about Prasad and Aparna's story and also thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

Stay safe and healthy!
