We are raising money to make candles for healthcare workers and and those combating COVID-19.

Hello everyone!
With everything going on in the world today, we’ve been thinking about what we can do to give back to those fighting to keep us safe. A hobby of Andy's over the past couple of years has been making candles, and quarantine has been an opportunity to continue to practice this hobby.
We would love to share this hobby by making candles for healthcare workers, first responders, and those who are working to keep us all safe from COVID-19. Anything we can do to show our appreciation will go a long way. And who doesn’t like candles?! What better way to relax at the end of a stressful day than to light a candle and enjoy the fragrance. In this effort, we're looking to raise $2,200 to purchase the supplies that are needed to make +/- 600 candles. A breakdown of projected costs are below.
Thank you for your support and for partnering with us in this project! For every donation of $100 or more, you will also receive a candle in return as a thank you for your generosity. If you do, please email me at [email redacted] with your address and a receipt of your donation.
Below are some pictures that have been taken from the first batch, as well as the story on how this came to be and information on the fundraising goal.

The story
Working from home during the time of COVID-19 has given me more time to practice a craft. I started making candles when I lived in Austin, TX, for gifts and special occasions. I have recently moved to Santa Barbara, CA (I'm back home in CA now!) and working from home was the perfect time to pick up this hobby again. With the supplies that I had on hand I was able to make 43 candles. While making these, Lauren and I were trying to decide what to do with them and giving them away to the community sounded like right thing to do. This became our way to provide a token of appreciation and gratitude to those fighting to keep us safe.
This fundraiser is geared to raise money so that we can make 600 candles.
If funds are raised past the goal, those will be applied to make more candles!
Fundraising Goal
In this effort, we are looking to raise $2,200 to purchase the supplies that are needed to make +/- 600 candles. The cost to produce one candle comes out to about $3.80, which covers the equipment (double boilers, packing supplies, funnels, shipping) and supplies (wax, scents, dyes, wicks, containers, labels).
With $2,000 raised, I will be able to make 600 candles that will be donated to the healthcare workers in our communities.
Are donations tax deductible?
Please note that I cannot guarantee that donations can be tax deductible. Note from Go Fund Me:
Donations made to a personal GoFundMe campaign, rather than a charity campaign, are generally considered to be personal gifts and are not guaranteed to be tax-deductible. But, you can always check with a tax professional to be sure. You will not be issued a tax receipt from our company.
