Dear friends and loved ones,
I’ve recently launched a therapeutic art program at Villa Colombo, a long-term care home where many of the residents are navigating the daily realities of Alzheimer’s, dementia, arthritis, and other age-related challenges. Despite the obstacles they face, these incredible seniors come alive when given the chance to create.
Art has the power to reach where words cannot. It can unlock memories, ease anxiety, improve fine motor skills, and most importantly—it brings joy, connection, and a sense of purpose. Watching someone’s face light up as they paint, sculpt, or simply hold a brush again is a kind of magic I wish everyone could witness.
But to keep this program thriving, I need your help. The budget for materials is very limited, and many of these seniors can only participate if we provide the supplies.
I’m putting together customized Art Kits filled with:
• Canvases
• Sketchbooks & drawing paper
• Acrylic paints & watercolor sets
• Brushes, pencils & erasers
• Air-dry clay (great for sensory stimulation & hand strength)
• Painting aprons
• Storage bins to organize and protect materials
These kits will allow each senior to explore their creativity with dignity, comfort, and care. Every donation—big or small—goes directly toward making this experience possible for them.
If you’d like to contribute, you can donate through this GoFundMe link:
Thank you for helping bring color, comfort, and creative expression into the lives of our elders. Your support truly means the world.
With love and gratitude,
