QRemedy is an analysis and support organization dedicated to countering the negative impacts of QAnon. We offer novel tools and research designed to prevent conspiracy theories, disinformation, and misinformation from spreading. We act as a hub for information about Qanon and related movements , especially support for those who have lost friends, family, or colleagues to QAnon and those questioning their own involvement with Qanon.

It is easy to imagine that a year after Biden's election and months after Trump’s social media deplatforming, things in US politics have returned to normal. What we have found is that QAnon is not vanishing, it is operating less visibly and is morphing into a new set of conspiratorial movements. Recent polls estimate the number of QAnon believers in the US in the tens of millions, and that number does not appear to have decreased significantly even though Q has been silent for half a year. There are almost no public facing remedies for this serious democratic and social problem.

Where we do see QAnon followers showing up in force is other anti-democratic efforts. The partisan “audit” searching for Chinese interference in the Arizona election is being run by a QAnon adherent . 38% of people who oppose the Covid-19 vaccine in the US are QAnon supporters, representing tens of millions of people and a brake on attaining herd immunity. Scores of QAnon believers have been arrested for storming the Capitol on January 6th, tracking with 40 million US adults who believe “true American patriots may have to resort to violence to save the country."

QRemedy has already started working on several types of countermeasures. We are working with cult experts and game designers to develop new games to “pre-bunk” citizens and help off ramp discouraged adherents. We are searching for compassionate approaches which support friends and families who have been hurt by their loved ones’ conspiratorial beliefs. Inspired by several analyses of Qanon’s similarities to a game, QRemedy and the Center for Applied Ethics & Values in Emerging Technologies (CAEVET ) at Crown College, UCSC are co-sponsoring two expert discussion panels on Game Remedies to the Adverse effects of QAnon.

We need your help in this work. Your contribution enables us to continue developing solutions to the morphing disinformation movement. These funds support a small decentralized office doing research, fundraising, continuing education, and promotion of what we find that works.
