After the heartbreaking loss of our unborn daughter, Lavender, it felt as though all light had vanished. The grief was overwhelming, and yet, in the midst of it all, we still had Harry and Poppy to protect — to shield their innocence, even as our own hearts broke.

We were left with more questions than answers, navigating a pain no parent should ever have to bear. In those darkest days, we leaned on the incredible support of the Lily Mae Foundation, who helped our eldest with play therapy so he could begin to understand and process emotions far too big for such a young soul.

The kindness and care we received from both the hospital and the Foundation have meant more to us than words could ever truly express. As a small gesture of gratitude — and in honour of the families like ours who face the unimaginable — I will be doing a skydive on the 13th of September to raise funds so that their vital work can continue.

Foundation: Our vision at The Lily Mae Foundation is to work alongside Medical & Healthcare Professionals, other Charities and the All Party Parliamentary Group for Babyloss, to be recognised as the main provider of bereavement support for families who have lost a baby to Stillbirth, Neonatal Death, Miscarriage or Medical Termination in the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

We provide a support network to bereaved parents, training and support for midwives and health professionals & research to help prevent babyloss.
