Reconstructing Zorro's Leg
Zorro was saved from a local shelter near Cincinnati, OH, after he had come in having been hit by a car. He was surrendered by his owner who could barely take care of herself, much less a suffering dog. He left the shelter with a foster, and Louie's Legacy agreed to take the case.
At our veterinarian, x-rays revealed that his leg was shattered and fragments were everywhere. Because the owner had waited so long, it had already begun to heal, but not in a good way. The bone fragments presented a long-term danger to his health and mobility, and ther was talk of amputation. To save the leg, a 4-hour long surgery would be required to insert a rod, reassemble the bone fragments and wrap the entire thing in wire before closing his muscles and skin around it.
The cost to save Zorro's leg and save him from a life of pain and infections is $2,000, very generously discounted, because our veterinarian knows the work we do and supports us. Still it is one of many financially crippling medical expenses we have had this season-- including Francis, Taco and many others.
Please consider helping to fund this important surgery and play a role in Zorro's new beginning. Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and all donations are fully tax deductible and will go directly to the cost of Zorro's surgery.
Thank you for caring about a needy animal!
