Community Service Trip to San Miguel de Allende
Tax deductible
Casita Linda helps families in the greater San Miguel area in Mexico who have an income of less than $275 per month build their own homes. By providing a dignified and safe environment—a casita linda or pretty little home—Casita Linda empowers families and change lives. Since its founding, Casita Linda has built over 100 homes at a cost of ~US$12,000; and aims to build 100 more. Casita Linda is also engaged in local community workshops on education, family planning, family communication skills, water conservation, etc.
Karina Knizek, Alex Misiaszek, Monelli Esfandiary, Lily Houston, Elizabeth Price, Campbell Magruder, William and Christopher Howe will take the service trip with 4 other friends during Thanksgiving 2019. Each of them is committed to raise $1000 and work 10 hours a day for a total of 30 hours to help with both the construction of the home (together with the family and neighbors); and at the Casita Linda community center (helping with ongoing classes and programs).
