Hi my name is Etta and I am fundraising for my niece and her family.

Cassandra is my 4 year old niece, she was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, this is her story.

September 2024 was an exciting time, Cassandra was finally starting JK and going to the big school with her sister and cousins. She packed her backpack and off she went to her first day. She loved it, she was in her older cousin's class and had already made new friends.

As the second week of school started Cassandra came home and was not feeling well. We just chalked things up to a bug she had caught at school. As the night went on, Cassandra’s condition worsened. Her parents decided to bring her into McMaster Children’s Hospital emergency to get checked out. This was the beginning of a very long journey.

What started as a fever turned into an Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia diagnosis. The bug she had caught shed light on something much more serious.

Her treatment started immediately and we learned it would be a 2 year journey. In 2 years she will have had several different rounds of chemo, countless lumbar punctures, finger pokes, medications, and tests.

Cassandra amazes us everyday with her strength in fighting this disease. She has already endured so much in her few short years.

Her father has taken a leave from work to be her 24/7 caregiver. This has taken a financial toll on the family. Any help you can give through donations, prayers, or sharing this message would be greatly appreciate.
