Blessed Orphanage Dormitory
Donation protected
A few years ago, Blessed Orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania was founded by 2 childhood friends from Primary School, Simon and Tony. They started it from the kindness of their hearts, for the kindest hearts. Blessed Orphanage is 100% run by donations from volunteers. All the teachers are volunteer students from local colleges, and Simon and Tony don't make any profit from the school.
That's where we come in. There are 46 beautiful kids ages 2 to 9; each one has a different background. Some have only one parent, some live with relatives, and some have no families at all. One of the most positive and enthusiastic students, Mery, lives with family friends over 4 kilometers away; she walks alone to and from school every day.
At 4 or 5 years old, I was never too keen on going to school for even just a few hours per day. The students at Blessed Orphanage, however, are passionate about learning, and I want to make sure I can do everything in my power to make sure these kids can have the best education they can.
By building a dorm, we can achieve that goal. Not only does it mean they don't have to worry about getting to and from school safely, but it also allows us to make sure the kids have a stable living environment. Some kids' only meal per day is a bowl of rice and beans from school, and some don't have a proper bed to sleep on at night. Building this dorm would ensure stability and greater normality in their lives.
I've known these kids for over a month now and I know they don't deserve the life they've been given. A donation of any size would go miles here! Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions!
Asante sana!
