Donation protected
*Please send us a message to our Facebook or Instagram with the screenshot of your donation, we would love to send you one of our handmade Peruvian products of your choice*
Qosqo Maky, which means “from the hands of Cusco” in Quechua. A family-run business located in the Mission in San Francisco, California. A Peruvian retail store with various items made by Peruvian Artisans. We aim to display our culture and be able to teach people about the creativity and expression of the native peoples of Peru, the Incas.
We decided to use this GoFundMe as a means of working through this unusual time, having a business located in San Francisco, California has been one of the biggest blessings I have ever received. However, during this tough time, we have not been able to make any sales.
Hard Work Pays Off

Hi, my name is Juana Laurel and I was born in Cusco, Peru.
in 2012, My family came to U.S. crossing the pacific ocean. With a dream of a better life for themselves and our three children.
Growing up in Cusco where I learned how to make crafts, jewelry, and ceramics from other merchants. I eventually switched to creating and selling artisan objects in order to support my family.
Once in the United States, our dream was to continue to make the same handcrafted items they made in their warehouse in Cusco, with siblings and their spouses running that side of the business. The sole difference – a major one – would be that the store would now be 4,500 miles north.
OUR FIRST STORE IN THE UNITED STATES:
We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to open our storefront, Qosqo Maky, which means “from the hands of Cusco” in Quechua.
At first, having a storefront seemed daunting, as there were the challenges of navigating items such as commercial leases in an adopted country with different laws and a new language to learn.
WE NEED YOUR HELP:

My family is keen to continue to put 100% work in Qosqo Maky. But we cannot live without people who shop at our store. Especially, living in San Francisco when rent is getting higher as we open our business every day.
At Qosqo Maky, we’re sharing the beauty of Peruvian textiles with the world. We’ve come to the Kickstarter community to ask for your help us stay afloat to do what we love to do the most.
We believe it's possible to grow while remaining a socially responsible, independent, locally-sourced company and we are asking the Kickstarter community to help us prove it!
What we plan to do with all the donations:
1) We will give bonuses to help support our family while we did not work.
2) We will further develop our program that works with other Peruvian Artisan in order to increase awareness of the community.
3) We will build a fully responsive website that we can sell our product.
4) We will focus on programming, designing, and organizing events to keep our community connected.
5) We will coordinate fundraisers to help support our communities in Peru and small businesses in Peru that are being affected by it.
We are also currently working really hard to build our website where you can find more of our products. Please be patient, we will update you as soon as we have it ready.
