Here is a chance for us to show up as a community. The dad in this Amherst immigrant family was taken from his workplace by ICE several months ago and continues to be held in an ICE prison in eastern Mass. We are raising funds to help the mom pay rent and support their son. The dad was in pending immigration proceedings in which he complied with all ICE check-ins and had been granted an active work permit. No one knows why he was snatched from his workplace. A non-profit is providing quality legal help, but mom, who speaks little English, is struggling to make ends meet. All funds raised will go to help this family. (At the request of the mom, we are keeping their names confidential for security reasons.) We appreciate the Workers Center for recommending this family to us.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, as we learn of other families impacted by unjust ICE raids, we may share some of the money raised in this fundraiser with some of them as well.
