On 13 March in Glasgow, two brave (some would say overly optimistic) members of the Helensburgh & Lomond Carers team Sharon and Caroline will be taking on HYROX — the race that somehow mixes running with functional fitness and a mild identity crisis about whether it wants to be a marathon or a strongman competition.

They’ll be lunging, sled-pushing, rowing, burpeeing and probably questioning all their life choices… all to support the amazing work we do at Helensburgh & Lomond Carers.

If you know HLCC, you’ll know our team supports unpaid carers of all ages — from young carers juggling school and caring responsibilities, to adult carers who give so much of themselves every single day. You can find out more about the brilliant work we do at www.hlcc.org.uk.

Why are we doing this?
Well:
• We love our carers ❤️
• We love a challenge (apparently)
• And we love the idea of raising funds for vital support, even if it means risking a dramatic collapse at the finish line

How you can help
Every donation — big, small, or somewhere in between — will:
• Support our carer groups
• Fund respite activities
• Help us continue providing emotional, practical and social support to carers across Helensburgh & Lomond

And it will also help motivate our two staff members to actually train instead of just talking about training.

Donate today and cheer us on!

Sponsor our madness, support an incredible cause, and enjoy the thought of our staff members willingly throwing themselves into a fitness event described by many as “fun” and by others as “why would anyone do that to themselves?”

Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and sense of humour.
We’ll need all three.

You can make a difference by donating today to Helensburgh & Lomond Carers SCIO.
