My 11-year old son, Brennan, is the real-life version of Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez from the iconic 1993 film, “The Sandlot.” His love for baseball, passion to dream big and vision of one day becoming a professional baseball player can only be described as sensational. As a proud father, I am determined to support making his dream a reality in any way possible.
Despite his immediate interest in the sport, Brennan started playing baseball as soon as his age allowed. Eager to be part of the game, as well as a team, he found himself on the pitcher’s mound during t-ball season…watching his face light up with excitement on the field is something that I’ll never forget and cherish as he grows into a young man. Brennan now plays on the 12 & under travel team, as well as Little League and has made the All-Starts team each year since starting to play.
When Brennan was 5, I took him to his first baseball game at Yankee Stadium to see the NY Yankees. He sat on the edge of his seat for the full nine innings, intently focused on the game and utterly consumed by the cheering crowd, smell of hot dogs and peanut shells and contagious energy of the stadium…Brennan turned to me and said “Dad, if this is what Dodger Stadium is like, I’m going to play there one day!” And just like that, Brennan’s love and loyalty for the Dodgers was born.
Brennan’s dream is to attend the Home Run Derby / All-Star Game at Dodger’s Stadium in Los Angeles, CA, with myself and his two sisters. Wanting to make one of his many dreams and aspirations a reality, Brennan decided he would stop at nothing to succeed at affording this once-in-a-lifetime trip. From saving Christmas and birthday money, to recycling cans, he knew he would need that love and support from his family and friends and ask if I would help him create a go fund me page! As a proud father I have agreed to match dollar-for-dollar of what Brennan raises, as he shares in my determination to support his dreams. In addition, we will be donating 10% of all funds raised for this trip to the Dodger’s charitable organization, Los Angeles Dodger foundation! #Biggerthanbaseball
Brennan’s appreciation for your donation, regardless of it’s size, is unmeasurable. Thank you for helping to bring our family one step closer to Dodger’s Stadium, and Brennan one leap closer to achieving his dream of becoming a professional baseball player for the Dodgers!
