RESCUE IS AT IMMEDIATE RISK. WE NEED HELP

It is with deep sadness that we deliver heart-wrenching news. DRU animal rescue will lose our sanctuary’s property and home to so many abused, neglected and abandoned animals due to massive covid debts we simply can not recover from without significant help. We need to raise enough money to cover these debts to save our sanctuary and mission to save lives. This will leave 180 animals homeless, 175 volunteers losing their safe place; not only that, it would mean we would have to close all mental health, disability, and wildlife programs. This will have a devastating impact on hundreds of animals and so many people in our community that need us. We have exhausted all efforts; this is our very last chance to save our sanctuary and rescue!

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP MORE THAN WE EVER HAVE. This will be the end of DRU if this option does not work. We have avoided posting this in the hope that we can sort this out on our own, as we know everyone is struggling right now, but we have been left with no options, and we are literally about to lose everything.

Covid and lockdowns stopped us from raising any funds with tours and our primary source of income diminished. Our landlord, as well as family run business’s that supply our feeds and our vets, supported us and helped us through covid by carrying these debts to continue our work and help feed and house our animals, we have tried so hard to raise funds to cover these debts but with the ongoing daily costs of feeds and vetting, we just have not been able to cover these debts as well.

These family businesses and kind people can only carry us for so long, and our time is up, everyone has been so affected by covid and everyone is struggling, we truly appreciate beyond words how wonderful they have been to us through covid. We would not have survived till now without their help, but it is a debt they cannot continue to carry, and it is a debt we cannot raise without help.

We are a 100% volunteer-based rescue, and all funds raised go back to the animals and mission to save neglected, abused and abandoned animals. DRU animals have nowhere to go; with the current rental crisis, we have no hope of finding anywhere with so many animals.
