Help for Heather

Donation protected
Heather Betz served as a Law Enforcement Officer for 16 years in Ohio and South Carolina. On Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, 2018, she was shot in the right eye and face during a domestic violence/shots fired response. She was air lifted to a trauma hospital and had surgery to remove the bullet and attempt to fix the eye. The damage was too extensive to the Optic Nerve and she lost her eye sight in her right eye and suffers ongoing migraines and extreme dizziness. Workers Comp failed to pay over $1,500 in hospital bills. Due to the shooting, she also suffered a stroke in April of 2019. The bills totaled just over  $3,500 and Workers Comp was supposed to pay them, however, without her or her attorney knowing the turned around and denied the claim and never forwarded the bills to either Heather or her attorney. All the bills were sent to collections totaling over $5,000. She was forced to pay them as her and her husband are attempting to purchase a new house.

If this is not bad enough, Heather is having to live on $1300 a month per tax as a result of her medical retirement. Heather also filed for her Public Safety Officers Benefits from the federal government and has yet to see any help from what she is due. Needless to say we really need to step up and help our blue sister warrior! Obviously, the system has again failed to take care of a warrior who has sacrificed so much! I hope you can find it in your hearts to help us knock this out of the park.
