A Christmas Story
Donation protected
Looking for a way to give back this holiday season? Here's your opportunity. I recently learned of a family living in the St. John's area that has been struck by tragedy this holiday season. With your help, I am hoping we can make a difference in their Christmas.
They were a family of three. Mom, dad and their 10-year-old son Liam live in the Torbay area. Liam is autistic. Mom, with lots of help from dad, has been the primary caregiver for Liam when he is not in school. Mom just passed away unexpectedly as a result of a heart issue. Mom did not have life insurance. All expenses associated with the funeral were paid out of pocket at a time when there are many demands on the family budget. Furthermore, the family work schedule was such that Liam always had support when not in school. Dad works the night shift and mom worked the day. As a result of mom's passing dad has had to take a leave from work to look after Liam. Dad is trying to find support for Liam to bridge the caregiver gaps. The family is struggling. Liam is not fully understanding the situation and often asks "when is mom coming home?" The family is going through some difficult times this holiday season. Let's change that! All funds raised will be presented to the family on the 23rd of December.
Let's help bring a gift to the family this holiday season!
