Government Camp Fire Prevention

Government Camp is a small community surrounded by the beautiful Mt. Hood Forest.  Many people come here to ski, bike, hike, kayak and enjoy the scenery.

During the summer our community is at risk of forest fires. To help reduce the risk, we encourage land owners to clean branches, brush and other flammable materials from their property.  The problem comes with gathering up the debris piles, chipping it and hauling it away.

In the past we have been fortunate to participate in grant programs to help fund the clean up. This year, money to fund the clean up is not available.

We are asking for help from the residents of Government Camp and the many visitors that enjoy our community to help. The money raised will be used to keep our community safe from forest fires during the dry, summer season.

Thank you for your contribution!
