100 Miles for Hope – Help Me Support Children in Uganda

Donation protected
Hi! I’m Grace, and this summer, I’m taking on two challenges that mean the world to me — and I’d be so grateful for your support.

Volunteering in Uganda:
This July, I’ll be traveling to Uganda to volunteer with Uganda Hands for Hope, an incredible charity that works with children and families living in extreme poverty. I’ll be based in some of Kampala’s most vulnerable communities, helping to deliver education, food, and support programs that change lives.
This isn’t just a trip — it’s a chance to be part of something much bigger. A chance to stand alongside communities that are often forgotten and help give children the opportunities they deserve.

The Hike: 100 Miles for a Purpose
To help raise the funds needed for this journey, I’m challenging myself to hike the entire South Downs Way — all 100 miles (160 km) from Winchester to Eastbourne.
It’s a tough trail, with steep climbs, unpredictable weather, and over a week of walking. But I wanted to do something that reflects the heart and effort behind this cause. Every mile I hike is a step toward creating brighter futures for the children I’ll be working with.

My Goal: £2,000
I’m aiming to raise £2,000, which will directly support:
  • Flights to and from Uganda
  • Accommodation and meals during the trip
  • Learning resources and materials for children
  • Contributions to health and welfare initiatives
  • Local transport and project logistics
Every penny helps — not just in getting me there, but in empowering the life-changing work of Uganda Hands for Hope.

Why This Charity?
Uganda Hands for Hope operates at the heart of the communities it serves. Their work includes:
  • Providing free education, meals, and school supplies to children in informal settlements
  • Offering vocational training for young people
  • Supporting families with emergency medical care and housing aid
They do this with compassion, commitment, and very limited resources — and I’m honoured to contribute in any way I can.

How You Can Help
Whether it’s £5, £50, or simply sharing this page with someone else — every act of support makes a difference.
Your generosity will help me make this journey, and more importantly, help uplift communities that need it most.
