My father had a stroke behind the wheel of his car on his way to work on May 11th, 2020. Police pulled him over and arrested him for drunk driving even though there were clear signs of him having a stroke. He was held at the police station for over 4 hours before finally them giving him a breathalyzer, seeing he had no alcohol in his system, and noticing that the left side of his body was not working. He was sent to the hospital where he then stayed for over 3 months recovering from the stroke. He has never fully recovered as his left side is still paralyzed, and he has significant brain damage as well. What could have been a health scare turned into a life debilitating event that will affect him for the rest of his life because of the police officers who arrested him. A stroke has to be treated in the first 4 hours for a chance at recovery and they did not give him that chance.

My dad was a hardworking man that worked every single day in construction for as long as I can remember, never taking a vacation once in that time.
