!Hi, my name is Kat Davis , and I’m reaching out with a full and humble heart.

Years ago, my daughter and I were incredibly close. She was the light of my life, and we shared a bond that felt unbreakable. But life doesn’t always go the way we hope. Due to a mix of painful family circumstances and my own struggle with addiction, our relationship fractured. I lost her trust, and for a long time, I wasn’t the mother she needed or deserved.

In my early 50s, I made the hardest decision of my life — to get sober and start over. It hasn’t been easy. Every day, I continue the work of healing, staying sober, and slowly trying to rebuild a life that can hold love, stability, and connection. My daughter and I began speaking again when she was in her 30s. It’s been slow and sometimes uncertain — but there’s a quiet hope growing between us.

Now, she has given birth to a beautiful baby girl — my granddaughter. And I want, more than anything, to be there. Not just to meet this precious new life, but to be a source of comfort and strength to my daughter in a moment when she needs support, reassurance, and love. She lives in France now with her partner, far from any immediate family. I know she often feels isolated and unsure, and I want to show her that I am here for her — truly present, ready to support her as she becomes a mother herself.

Unfortunately, due to chronic health issues and limited income, I can’t afford the trip on my own. That’s why I’m reaching out. I’m hoping to raise enough to cover travel expenses so I can be there for a few precious weeks — to hold my granddaughter in my arms, to support my daughter during this life-changing time, and to continue rebuilding the bridge between us.

This isn’t just a trip. It’s a step toward healing, for all of us.

If you feel moved to help, know that your support means the world. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for helping me be there for my family when it matters most.

With deep gratitude,
Kat Davis
